If your computer has a trackpad, you can use standard multi-touch gestures to scroll or zoom your plot. You can also use the Ruler's cursors to define a smaller plot range - much like a traditional "marquee" tool. You can set an explicit plot range, by specifying minimum and maximum x-values. You can also use the mouse to scroll by clicking and dragging the plot, or via the Scroller control.

To scroll using multi-touch Show

Follow these steps to display and use the Scroller control:

  1. Start scrolling with the mouse or multi-touch so that the Scroller control appears.

  2. Use the Scroller as follows:-

    • Click and drag the Scroller thumb to quickly change the plot range.

    • Click and drag the left- or right edges of the Scroller thumb to adjust the width of the plot range.

    • Click to the left or right of the Scroller thumb for continuous scrolling.

To zoom using multi-touch Show

To zoom with the ruler Show

Follow these steps:

  1. Make the ruler visible by clicking its button in the window toolbar.

  2. Drag the ruler's two vertical cursors (left and right) to define your intended x-axis range.

  3. Position the ruler's horizontal cursor to specify your chosen y-axis maximum limit

  4. Right-click on the ruler and choose: Zoom to Cursors. The plot will be redrawn with your limits applied.

To change the vertical scale with multi-touch Show

To set an explicit plot range Show

Follow these steps:

  1. Choose: View > Plot Range to display the Plot Range sheet (Mac) or dialog (Windows).

  2. Specify the minimum and maximum x values, then click the OK button to replot.
