![]() | SearchEnter a place name in the search field and click return.Search result appear as marker on the map itself. You can search for a variety of different kinds of places. To search for cities, towns, airports, states, provinces, continents, parks, mountains, lakes, etc., enter the just place name or the place name and the region where it resides (for example: "Mount Fuji, Japan"). To search for an address or a road, where possible, use the following formats: "Address, city, state" or "Road, city, ZIP". You can restrict the search results to a particular domain (country or region) adding the two-letter country code (au, br, ca, de, es, fr, it, jp, ru, uk, us, etc.) or the country name to the search term. To perform a reverse-geocode, the conversion of latitude and longitude values into human-readable addresses, enter the geographic coordinates as comma-separed latitude/longitude pair (for example: 43.254955, 13.011589). Right-click the marker to remove the result from the map. NOTE: When you enter a geographic point the geocoder will attempt to find the closest addressable location within a certain tolerance. The closest addressable location may be some distance from the original latitude and longitude values of the query, if the supplied point is not an exact match for any addressable locations. |

![]() | Get DirectionsDrag the marker to set the starting location (A).Click another point on the map to set the ending destination (B). You can also click another marker already present on the map (for example, the marker of a search result). Move the mouse over the purple line to show all steps of the route. Click a step marker to show the textual description for that step. You can navigate from a step to the following or go back. Click the directions line to display an info-window with the estimated travel time and distance of the journey, get reverse directions and remove the route from the map. Drag the markers to modify the directions displayed changing the start or end points to new locations on the map. Click the start or end markers to follow step-by-step driving directions. NOTE: By default, directions are assumed to be driving directions using the road network. |
![]() | Street ViewDrag the marker to the desired location. While dragging the marker, roads with available street-level imagery appear outlined in blue. To center a road with Street View imagery drag the marker at high zoom level. Click the marker. If Street View is available for the location chosen a thumbnail image shows you a preview of the place. Click the image to enter in Street View. Drag the imagery or use the A and D keys to rotate left and right, and the W and S keys to tilt up and down (you'll need to click on the Street View image first for this to work). To navigate along a street, click one of the white arrows overlaid on the street to move in that direction, or use the arrow keys. You can navigate on to another street once you reach the center of an intersection. As you move the mouse within Street View, you'll notice that the cursor now has lightly-shaded geometry attached to it - it will show an oval when your mouse is following a road and a rectangle when moving across the facades of buildings. This shape shows you where you can jump to a new panorama to get a different view. Clicking the shape transports you to the best panorama in that direction. When there's a little magnifying glass in the bottom right of the shape, clicking it will zoom in on the current image, rather than transport you to a closer location (this happens when the current panorama has the best view for the selected location). To exit from Street View click the close button on bottom right corner of the window. Right-click the marker to remove it from the map. |
