Cutting

You can change optional settings that control how your photos are printed. Use the position setting to alter the positioning of your photos.

To change the Position settings, click Layout Options in the Step3: Select paper size and layout screen, and click the Position tab.

Rotation

You can rotate photos so that they are oriented correctly. To change the photo's orientation, select the appropriate rotation radio button.

Note:
  • The Rotation setting does not affect your original data.
  • Even if you rotate a photo, its frame (printable area) does not rotate. As a result, the rotated photo will be printed either with its upper and lower edges cropped or at a reduced size.

Cutting

You can choose between the following ways to make a photo fit in the printable area.

Crop to Frame Size

Automatically trim off the areas of the image that extend beyond the margins of the selected print size, so that the printed result matches the specified print size. Either the top and bottom areas or the left and right areas of the image will be trimmed, depending on the aspect ratio of the original photo and the selected print size. By default, all photos are printed using this method.

Fit Panoramas to Frame

Resize each panoramic photo with an aspect ratio greater than 1:2 (without trimming it) so that it fits inside the print area specified in the Select a Print Layout dialog box. This setting overrides the Crop to Frame Size setting.

Fit to Frame

Resize each photo (without trimming it) so that it fits inside the print area specified in the Select a Print Layout dialog box. Margins may appear at the left and right of the photo, depending on the print size and aspect ratio.

Size and Position Adjustment

You can resize or move the photo.

Size

Resize the photo by selecting either Reduce or Enlarge.

Position

Press an arrow mark to move the photo in that direction.

Note:
You can also move the photo using a drag-and-drop operation.

After making these settings, click Apply to apply them. Click Apply to All to apply the settings to all the imported photos.

Note:
Even if you click Apply to All for the Size and Position Adjustment option, the setting is not applied to all of the images.

If you are satisfied with the Layout settings, click Close.

Click Next to move on to Selecting a Paper Type (Step 4).
