PhotoMosaique Version 1.6 |
Introduction
With PhotoMosaique you can create picture mosaics very quickly and very
easily. The final image is
made of a thousand tiny images (thumbails). Unlike other similar softwares PhotoMosaique
allows you
to obtain a good result using very few thumbnails. However an optimum result
requires big pictures
and it is rather difficult to visualize the final result on the screen, this
software is therefore intended
more for printing.
Instructions
Open an image, a portrait for example, and select the size of the thumbnails.
At first, try
with thumbnails of 10 or 15 pixels.
Before starting another calculation, cancel the preceding
one with the undo function (CTRL+Z).
Automatic resizing
When the option [Check size] is activated, PhotoMosaique will automatically
enlarge the image if it is
too small. The automatically calculated size is a minimum value, it is often
better to enlarge the image
manually for an optimum result.
Here is the table (in pixels)

Required RAM
High resolution images use a lot of memory.
Your computer has to have at least 256 Mb.
Bugs may appear if you have not sufficient memory
.
Printing in A4 format
If you want to print your final image on a full A4 sheet, use 40 pixel thumbnails,
the result
will be the best quality. Then step back one or two meters and you will easily
recognize your
original image.
Use your own thumbnails
The [Thumbnails] folder contains 40x40 pixel images in the format
JPEG, PNG, BMP or GIF
Advice
For the best result it is preferable to use images with
few details (still life, portrait, country-side).
